with our music ministry a centralized location for retrieving and sharing
information relating to Abundant Life Cathedral Choir. The messages placed on this site will be maintained by those of the

ABOUT US - ABUNDANT LIFE CATHEDRAL CHURCH
Choir Ministry
A church without a choir is like a shoe without any laces. It just won’t hold
up. ALC’s choir sprung from humble beginnings with Sister Saundra Elaine
Montgomery singing and Dr. Montgomery on piano. With the church’s growth came
the choir’s development. Sister Saundra trained six choral singers all about
praise and worship, adding body to her and Dr. Ed’s musical gifts. In ’89 Mark
Taylor became Director for both the choir and the band.
Since then, the choir has recorded three albums with the ALC Band (see below)
with the ALC band and has performed with the Houston Symphony and renowned
recording artists including Grammy Award winners Peabo Bryson, Regina Belle and
Lyle Lovett, not to mention Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Douglas Miller among others.
They have glorified God with their talents at the 2004 Colors of Christmas
Celebration, the ’03 and ’04 Nights of Inspiration Under the Stars and the ’03
and ’04 Chocolate Bayou Festivals. You might have seen the choir in ’03 singing
atop a float in the Thanksgiving Day Parade. The choir also had the honor of
helping former president George Bush Senior celebrate his 80th birthday as the
back-up choir for platinum recording artist Yolanda Adams, Michael W. Smith, the
Gatlin Brothers and the Houston Symphony. Other performers
